SERVICES AND PHILOSOPHY:
REFERRAL AND INTAKE - Our intake coordinator works with the referred individual, family and referring professional to verify insurance benefits, assist in securing initial authorization, and schedule the first visit.
OUTPATIENT RAPID STABILIZATION - When a patient in crisis is referred by another provider, we offer swift assessment and intensive multidisciplinary treatment as an outpatient alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. An individualized treatment plan is initiated immediately and reviewed at each visit. After stabilization, care can be returned to routine outpatient follow-up with the patient's psychiatrist or primary care provider.
MEDICAL MANAGEMENT – Our psychiatrists work actively to contain and treat episodes of illness with medication, education, family involvement and guidance. We often are able to manage severe symptoms without hospitalization. From the first visit we also begin developing a holistic plan for attaining long term stability.
COUNSELING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY – Our therapists are experienced and able to provide effective evidence-based treatment for individuals, couples, and families. As part of their Evergreen Clinic work they also provide divorce coaching in King County’s collaborative law program.
TEAM TREATMENT - Care is provided by our psychiatrists and therapists. Medication management, individual psychotherapy, couples/family therapy and specialized treatment are coordinated in regular team meetings. We work closely to coordinate care with primary care physicians and other involved clinicians.
EDUCATION AND FAMILY INVOLVEMENT – Patients and families regain ability to cope when they recognize the nature of illness, know what to expect, and understand what they realistically can do. We believe strongly that this is part of any medical treatment, no matter what kind of illness.
CONSULTATION AND ASSESSMENT - Multidisciplinary assessment of psychiatric diagnosis, family system issues, and current treatments is available for patients, families, clinicians, courts and attorneys. If needed, a comprehensive report can be generated.AREAS OF SPECIAL EMPHASIS:
TREATMENT-RESISTANT DEPRESSION AND BIPOLAR DISORDER - Despite multiple treatment trials a third of patients with depression or bipolar disorder fail to recover and develop chronic treatment-resistant illness. We are uniquely equipped to review prior treatments, make changes to optimize recovery, and help patients and families who struggle with demoralization and hopelessness.
ANXIETY DISORDERS – Panic, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive symptoms frequently occur as separate disorders. However, they also can appear as symptoms of mood disorders which must be identified and treated for optimal recovery. After comprehensive assessment we apply medications for short-term relief and proven psychotherapies for long-term results.
ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDERS – We treat adults and adolescents with ADD and ADHD, understanding that these disorders can present in a less than obvious fashion and can occur with other disorders that make treatment choices complicated. We are accustomed to these complications and can work with them.
DUAL DIAGNOSIS – Psychiatric disorders carry with them significantly enhanced risk for drug abuse and dependence. We are experienced at recognition and management of both, and we work closely with chemical dependency professionals also involved in care.
OPIOID DETOXIFICATION FOR PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC PAIN - Patients with chronic pain are at risk for developing depression, narcotic dependence, and permanent disability. Successful rehabilitation is possible only with comprehensive and coordinated multidisciplinary treatment that addresses all problem areas. In close collaboration with other involved specialists, we treat depression and help patients transition to non-narcotic alternatives for chronic pain management. After detoxification and medication optimization, care is returned to the referring provider. Doctors Galak and Rogge are certified for buprenorphine treatment of narcotic dependence.
PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS WITH HORMONAL IMBALANCE – Psychiatric symptoms can be associated with thyroid disease, low testosterone, menopause, the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and postpartum. Identification of these problems is part of our assessment process and close collaboration with other involved specialists is part of our treatment process.
